David's entire life and professional career have centered around his dedication to integrity, ethics, and public service.

As Chief of Staff of the City of Albany and a senior city leader for 10 years, David has worked to improve quality of life, enhance public safety, deliver essential City services, lead through a global pandemic, create more affordable housing, and revitalize our neighborhoods.

Prior to his service at City Hall, David served as an attorney at the Legal Aid Society (union member of UAW Local 2320) and program director at the United Way of the Greater Capital Region.

David earned his law degree from Albany Law School, a Bachelor's degree from SUNY University at Albany, and an Associate's degree from Columbia-Greene Community College. David also volunteers as a board member of Albany's National Little League.

David is a proud Democrat, son of a union mechanic, and Eagle Scout. When David is not serving the City of Albany, he can be found helping support a diverse slate of Democratic candidates both locally and nationally. Most recently, David traveled to North Carolina for two months to serve on the Harris-Walz Presidential Campaign and elect Gov. Josh Stein, LG. Rachel Hunt, AG Jeff Jackson, and other Democrats up and down the ballot.

David, his wife, Calee, and their Golden Retriever, Dunkin, are residents of Albany’s Helderberg Neighborhood.
